Entrevista con María Sisto

Interview with Maria Sisto

I want to share a little of my clients' lives, their tastes and lifestyles.

I will start by telling you about María Sisto , she is my oldest client, when I started making my first pieces she was one of the first people who became interested in Endëk Nature.

Maria is Spanish from Galicia, she has lived in Barcelona for several years, she has also lived in the United States and in other parts of Spain, I have known her for about 15 years now, she has a great love for books, and music, in particular  for vinyl records.

The other day I asked him to give me a tour of the street where he buys his records, Tallers Street in Barcelona.

He was telling me that his taste for vinyl records started at the University, he came with his friends to Tallers street , which used to be full of record stores, there they spent the afternoon looking and searching for new things, also  He used to frequent record fairs and second-hand shops, which he still attends and enjoys.

The record player he uses to listen to vinyl is from the year  1960 or 1970 a Philips automatic, the first record player his father had ever owned. It's wonderful that even though it's so old it still works, and it still sounds much better than newer ones.  Maria tells me that maintenance is simple, you just have to change the needles from time to time and clean the records with a sponge and spray.

Toca discos

Maria prefers to listen to vinyl records because of the sound that the dust makes with the needle when passing the music, a much warmer and more enveloping sound that a CD or digital music does not have. Her 5  Favorite albums are:

1)Hole, “Live Through This”

2) Jacques Brel

3)Suede

4)Joy Division, “That'll Be The End”

5)The Smith, “Strangeways, Here We Come”

Currently looking for her next purchase Samuraï from a girl in Madrid, she released a record a month ago,  and has been to the Tallers stores but has not been able to get it.
