Here is another beautiful story about my clients!
I’m going to introduce Susanne Bartels, a talented photographer from Munich who I met in Venice a few years ago.
What is your favourite piece from Endëk Nature?
I love the beauty and uniqueness of Endëk Nature’s jewelry—natural treasures given eternal life through the hands of Sofia Oyarvide. It’s impossible to choose a favorite among these ‘nature diamonds,’ but my lucky charm is a small purple Clematis flower, which I’ve fixed to a hairpin. I carry it everywhere—on my shirts, caps, or in my hair—making it almost a recognition sign for those who’ve met me before. And beyond that, I wear my Endëk Nature ring and pins with great joy and pride. You’ll almost never see me without a piece of it.
How did you start being a photographer?
I started photography at eight when I received an Agfa Optima 335 and just one roll of film—24 precious frames for my birthday and another for Christmas. From that moment, I was fascinated. Though I first took a long detour as a pharmacist, my passion never faded. Eventually, I found my way back to my true calling as a photographic artist.
2- Tell us about your new book.
My new book City Surfers captures the raw energy and contrasts of the Eisbachwelle in Munich—a place where urban life meets the wild force of water. It’s a black-and-white photographic exploration of the surfers who ride this powerful wave, blending athleticism with artistry. But beyond that, it’s also about movement, passion, and the fleeting beauty of each moment. The book speaks to street photographers, the global surf community, and anyone who appreciates the poetry of the city in motion.

4- In which countries have you been doing photographic projects?
I’ve worked on photographic projects across the world. In Botswana, I held an exhibition showcasing my travels. My “Mirrors and Windows” exhibition featured images from Goa, Bali, London, Venice, Rome, and Georgia. In Venice, I created “Rifletti prima di riflettere”, a project about the artist Fiora Gandolfi and her Venetian palazzo which ended up in an exhibition and zine. My work has also taken me to Oaxaca, Mexico, France, and Kolkata, where I’m currently working on a long-term project that will hopefully bring me back to Kolkata for a third visit next year. In Tuscany, I’m developing another ongoing project, and in La Perla, Puerto Rico, I’ve photographed for what will be my next book—the dummy is already on my wall. Right now, I’m also working on a fascinating long-term project in Austria.
